What file types does Stashii support?
Stashii supports most common media and document formats:
- Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC, HEIF, TIFF, BMP, SVG, AVIF
- Videos: MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM, MKV, M4V
- Documents: PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, CSV
- Audio: MP3, WAV, AAC, FLAC, M4A
- Raw photos: DNG, CR2, CR3, ARW, NEF, ORF, RAF, RW2
Executable files (.exe, .bat, .sh, etc.) are blocked for security. See [Library](./library.md) for the full list.
Why does this video say "Web-only" on my phone?
Some professional cinema cameras (Sony FX3 / FX6, RED, Canon Cinema, etc.) record video in formats that mobile phones can't play directly. These files include things like 10-bit color, 4:2:2 chroma subsampling, or non-standard H.264 / HEVC profiles — great for editing, not supported by the hardware video decoders on iOS or Android.
If Stashii detects one of these formats during upload, the mobile preview will show a Web-only video card with an Open on Web button instead of a broken player. Tap that button to open the video in your phone's browser, where it plays normally. The file is still safely stored in your library — only the in-app phone playback is affected.
If you only shoot on phones or consumer cameras (iPhone, Android, GoPro, Sony Alpha mirrorless in standard recording modes, etc.), you'll never see this card.
What are the storage limits?
Storage depends on your plan: Free gets 5 GB, Creator 150 GB, Pro 500 GB, and Studio 2 TB. Check your usage in Settings → Storage (web) or Settings → Data & Storage (mobile).
What are the upload size limits?
Images and documents can be up to 50 MB each. Audio and video files share the same per-plan limits: 2 GB (Free), 5 GB (Creator), 10 GB (Pro), and unlimited (Studio). Other file types can be up to 100 MB. See [Library](./library.md) for details.
Is Stashii available on mobile?
Yes. Stashii has native apps for iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play), plus a full web dashboard. Your account and content sync across all platforms.
Can I use Stashii offline?
Stashii requires an internet connection for uploads, sharing, and syncing. You can browse previously loaded content in the mobile app while offline, but changes will not sync until you reconnect.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes 5 GB storage, 1 project, 1 Space, 3 collections, and 3 contacts. You can upgrade at any time. See [Billing and Plans](./billing-and-plans.md).
How do I cancel my subscription?
- Open the billing portal — Settings → Billing (web) or Settings → Account → Manage Subscription (mobile).
- Choose Cancel Subscription.
- Your paid plan stays active until the end of the billing period, then reverts to Free.
Can I organize files into folders?
Yes. Create folders in your Library on both web and mobile. Folders can be nested as deeply as you need. See [Library](./library.md).
Can I tag my media?
Yes. Create tags in Settings → Tags, then assign them to any media item for filtering and organization.
What is the difference between Projects and Spaces?
- Projects are private collaboration workspaces where you and invited collaborators work together on shared media. See [Projects](./projects.md).
- Spaces are public pages you design and publish for anyone to view via a link. See [Spaces](./portfolios.md).
Can I share a file with anyone?
Yes. Use a public link share — anyone with the link can view the content without needing a Stashii account. Public links expire after 90 days and can be renewed. See [Sharing](./sharing.md).
Can I share only with specific people?
Yes. Use People invite sharing. Add contacts in [People](./people.md), then invite them from the Share modal. Only invited contacts can access the content.
Can recipients comment on shared content?
Comments can be enabled for People shares. Public link shares do not support comments. See [Sharing](./sharing.md).
How long do deleted items stay in Trash?
Up to 30 days, then they are permanently removed and cannot be recovered. See [Trash](./trash.md).
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to Settings → Account and scroll to the danger zone. Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day grace period — you can cancel by logging back in. See [Settings and Security](./settings-and-security.md).
Why do I need to verify my phone number?
New accounts verify a phone number once at sign-up. It's a quick check that confirms you're a real person and helps protect Stashii from spam and automated abuse. This applies no matter how you create your account — email and password, Google, Apple, or a magic link. The one exception is joining through a workspace invite, which skips the step. Your number is stored securely for security purposes only and is never used for marketing. See [Getting Started](./getting-started.md).
How do I get help?
Use the AI assistant chat on the web or mobile app. It can answer questions about features, plans, and troubleshooting. For account-specific issues like billing disputes or security concerns, the assistant will connect you with a human support agent.
